Skijor With Your Dog   $14.95    by Mari Hoe-Raitto and Carol Kaynor

With 188 pages and more than 70 photos and illustrations, this book was the first full-length volume written for those interested in this simple, enjoyable sport. In this book, you'll find out how to teach your dog to pull, what equipment you need, how to include children, racing tips, how to train for competition, and how to camp and travel with dogs. Unfortunately, the book is now out of print. We still have a couple of copies for anyone wishing to add it to their skijoring library.

Ski Spot Run    $18.95  by Matt Haakenstad and John Thompson

This book offers eveyone from beginners to experienced skijorers a detailed and common sense approach to skijoring. It contains information about the sport in general, how to properly choose equipment, the basics of training one's dog for the sport, and how to be a responsible participant in dog-powered sports. It also covers the related dry-land sports of canicross, bikejoring and rollerjoring. The clarity and humor of the writing make it an easy-reading experience. The many photographs and diagrams add to the reader's understanding of the information presented.

  harnesssideview.JPG (17957 bytes)   X Back Harness   $27.95  harness back.JPG (13539 bytes)

The Sliding X-Back Harness design allows a flexible fit that is also difficult for the dog to slip out of.  The design does not inhibit running movement or chest expansion. It is made of waterproof nylon webbing padded at the neck and breastplate with closed cell foam. Decorative stitching on the neck area makes the Harness look attractive. All of the fabric edges are sewn, not cut; there are no raw edges. Reflective trim on the X-Back Harness allows extra visibility. Since the harnesses come in 20 sizes, they will fit most sizes and breeds of dog. A loop at the tail end (pardon the pun) of the Harness is the point of attachment for the snap on the Tow Line.

 Hip-Belt--new.JPG    Hip Belt    $74.95  Hip-Belt-alone.JPG (18867 bytes)

The Hip Belt has a patented soft quick release - once released on the trail there is no danger of injury to the dog or others from metal quick release. The human's center of gravity lowers with the belt positioned at their hips. Bright reflective strips on the back of the belt provide extra safety in low-light conditions. The belt straps extend from both sides of the belt to keep one's balance when turning. There are heavy duty snaps on the waist band for a comfortable fit. The inside of the belt is lined with a comfortable, tacky material that holds it in place without the restriction of leg loops. The Tow Line attaches to the inner portion of the quick release.

  Tow-Line.jpg (51224 bytes)  Tow Line  $22.00

The Tow Line is made of
durable 1 inch tubular webbing. It is constructed with a 16 inch length of high quality, cold weather bungee sewn inside the webbing. This section of bungee cord allows some flexibility in the line that makes pulling easier for the dog. A loop at one end of the Tow Line attaches to the quick release on the Hip Belt. A brass snap at the other end of the Tow Line connects to the loop on the Sliding X-Back Harness. The line also features an additional leash handle near the brass snap for better control of the dog.

Two Dog Neck Line    $12.95

The Two Dog Neck Line is used when two or more dogs are to tow a single skier. The Neck Line has brass snaps at both ends. The snaps are attached to the dogs' collars in order to keep them side by side.
